How can I RSVP and when's the deadline?

The RSVP deadline is the 13th May 2026. We are aware this is quite an early RSVP, but the venue requires all the details a year in advance of the big day.

What do I need to pay for and when?

We’re so grateful to have you joining us in Crete to celebrate! To help make everything run smoothly, we kindly ask guests to cover the cost of their own flights and airport transfers, as well as a £100 per person contribution towards the three-day stay. We ask that this is paid into the account detailed below no later than the 31st August 2026.

We’ve done our best to keep costs as low as possible, and your contribution helps cover the shared villas where we’ll all be staying together, the food and an open bar on the wedding day evening. We truly appreciate it and can’t wait to spend an unforgettable few days celebrating with you!

What's the plan for the wedding weekend?

We’ll be celebrating over three relaxed, joy-filled days:
* Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome Dinner: Arrive, get settled into your villa, and take some time to unwind. In the evening, those who have arrived will head out for a casual dinner together - a chance to catch up, meet everyone, and start the celebrations early!
* Day 2 – The Wedding Day: This is the big day! The ceremony will take place near the beach, followed by our reception and evening party. Expect good food, music, and lots of dancing!
* Day 3 – Recovery & Relaxation: A slow and easy day for everyone to relax, enjoy the villas, maybe take a dip in the big pool, or simply lounge with friends. In the evening, those who would like to can join us for dinner down the road at a local restaurant. 
* Day 4 – Departure: Time to say our goodbyes and head home.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes! We’ll have a selection of beer, wine and spirits available throughout the entire day, with the open bar starting in the evening. There will also be plenty of non-alcoholic options for those who prefer to sip something soft.

Is there a dress code?

We want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible throughout the day. Light, breathable fabrics are ideal, and we encourage outfits that suit a relaxed outdoor celebration. Since the ceremony will take place on a beach/poolside, please keep footwear practical and comfortable.

What should I wear to the wedding?

Our celebration will take place on the beach, so we encourage comfortable, beach-friendly attire. Think light fabrics, breathable shoes (or even sandals!), and sun cream if needed. While we want everyone to feel their best, formal wear isn’t necessary, comfort and style are both welcome!

Are there any colours guests should avoid wearing?

We kindly ask guests to avoid wearing white or very pale tones, as we’d like to keep these special colours reserved for the bridal party and groomsmen. Our wedding colours feature soft neutrals and pinks, so feel free to choose something that complements those shades.

Can I extend my stay?

If you'd like to stay on at Thalasses before or after the wedding, just send us a quick text or email. We’ll be happy to share all the relevant information and pass along our contact’s details from the venue so you can arrange the extra nights directly.

What about wedding gifts?

Your presence at our wedding truly means the world to us, and we don’t expect any gifts at all. Having you celebrate with us is more than enough! ❤️

However, if you would really like to give something, a small contribution towards our honeymoon would be appreciated.

Can I bring children or a plus one?

As much as we love your little ones (and your lovely partners!), our wedding will be an intimate, adults-only celebration. We hope you’ll take the chance to enjoy a carefree weekend with good food, music, and a few drinks!

Once we’ve received everyone’s RSVPs, we’ll share the accommodation plan showing who’s staying in each villa on this website. We’ve done our best to group friends and familiar faces together and don’t worry, couples won’t be split up (except for Josh and Holly the night before the big day!).

We kindly ask for your understanding, as it’s quite the puzzle making sure everyone is comfortable and with people they know.

What will the weather be like?

Since we’ll be by the beach, expect warm temperatures and a light breeze. We recommend bringing a light wrap or jacket for the evening in case it cools down.

There are lots of things included in the villas, too many to list on here! If you go back to the Venue and Villas page, there's a button which will take you straight to the Thalasses website where each villa is listed and what's in them!

What time is check in and check out?

How should I travel to the destination?

Guests will need to fly into Heraklion Airport in Crete, where a taxi ride to the venue is around 1 hour long. We recommend booking this in advance to keep the cost low.

What can we expect at the reception?

After the ceremony, we’ll move to the reception area by the pool, where there will be music, delicious food, and plenty of drinks. It’ll be a relaxed and joyful evening to celebrate together!

Will dinner be seated or buffet-style?

Accepted Answer

Dinner will be buffet-style, with plenty of delicious options to choose from, but we’ll all be seated together around the table to enjoy the meal as one big group.

Is there an evening party?

Absolutely! Once we've finished eating, we’ll keep the celebration going with music, dancing, and a few cocktails by the pool. Feel free to let loose, kick off your shoes, and join us on the dance floor.

What time does the wedding night end?

The celebrations will come to a close around midnight, in order to be considerate of locals and our neighbouring villas. We’ll make sure the evening is filled with plenty of music, laughter, and dancing before then!

Do I need a passport?

Accepted Answer

Yes! For Crete specifically, you need six months on your passport from the date of entry. So check your passports before booking your flights!

Do I need to buy travel insurance?

Accepted Answer

We strongly recommend travel insurance for peace of mind. It can cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost luggage, and other unforeseen circumstances.

In case of cancellation, we will not be liable for your travel costs.
